朗肯讲座(Rankine Lecture)开始于1961年，是为了纪念土力学早期奠基者朗肯（Rankine,1820-1872)而设立的,和
太沙基讲座（Terzaghi Lecture）同是国际岩土工程界最高级别的讲座。由英国岩土工程学会（British Geotechnical Association）主持召开，每年3月份举行一次。朗肯讲座人每年由英国学术界投票推选，被推选者要求具有世界影响的学者。1961～1972年的朗肯讲座在Institution of Civil Engineers举行，自1973年以来则改在帝国理工学院 （Imperial College）举行。讲座报告刊载于 Géotechnique学报上。
