Abstract: Parametric study was carried out to evaluate the ultimate bearing capacity of a rough A&~G
strip footing resting on two-layer clay soil. Computations were performed by the commercial finite ,m{Zn"?kS
element analysis software ABAQUS. The computational results are compared with published !F/;WjHz
lower bound and upper bound solutions by limit analysis. ~ULuX"n
