International Symposium on Discrete Element Modelling of Particulate Media
In celebration of the 70th Birthday of Colin Thornton 29-30th March 2012 School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham, Birmingham UK The international symposium on discrete element modelling of particulate media is organised in honour of Colin Thornton’s 70th birthday and to recognize his outstanding scientific contributions to this field. The symposium will offer a unique opportunity for researchers and scientists to discuss topics pertaining to the modelling of particulate media, as well as providing an opportunity to celebrate Colin Thornton’s achievements. Contributions from the following areas are welcome.
Particle-particle interactions;
Agglomerate breakage;
Quasi-static deformation;
Granular dynamics;
Discrete element modelling;
Coupled numerical methods with DEM
