How many Chinese journals are included in the newly indexed 700 regional journals on Web of Science?
Abstract:Based on the current news via Thomson Reuters “700 new regionaljournals in the world have been added to Web of Science since 2007”,we conducted an investigation to find out that 38 (5.4%) Chinesejournals (including Hong Kong region) are included. The results alsoshow that up to now a total of about 147 Chinese journals (113 fromChina Mainland, 8 from Hong Kong and 26 from Taiwan) have been includedby SCI and SSCI & AHCI.

from Europe (364, 52%) and
Asia-Pacific (199, 28.4%),and mostly about Social and Behavioral Science (161, 23%), Chemistry(148, 21.1%), and Agriculture Biology & Environmental Sciences(108, 15.4%). Among those 700 regional journals, how many are fromChina?
Up to now, a total of about 147 Chinese journals (
113 from China Mainland, 8 from Hong Kong and 26 from Taiwan) have been included by SCI and SSCI & AHCI. Table 3 shows that
137 journals are indexed by SCI, and the remaining 10 are indexed by SSCI & AHCI.
