I get the message: Out of memory, DIANA-JOB ABORTED. What can I do? There are two things you can do to solve this. 1. Decrease the size of the job. 2. Increase the size of the internal memory. Option 2 needs some specific attention. On 32 bit machines there is a limit of 1.8GB that can be addressed by a process such as Diana. If your 32 bit machine does not have 2GB of internal memory increasing the amount of internal memory could solve the problem. If you received the above message and your machine has already 2GB or more internal memory then the 1.8GB machine limit could be the cause of the problem. Specifically on Windows 32 bit machines there is an option to increase the limit of 1.8GB a little bit by using the /3GB switch in boot.ini. This will raise the limit to 2.7GB.For more information about the /3Gb option in boot.ini, please refer to the following website: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platform/server/PAE/PAEmem.mspx If the above options do not solve the problem then the only thing you can do is switch to a 64 bit machine with more memory. Special attention is needed for running Diana 32 bit executables on Windows x64 edition. The maximum amount of internal memory to solve the system of equations in this case is 3.6GB. This is the case for older Windows versions of Diana. Diana 9.2 is available in a 64 bit Windows version which does not have this limit.
