4hB]vY\T SLOPE 2000 ver. 2.4 by Dr. Y.M. Cheng
oH@78D0A |yCMt:Hk Q &8-\ Special Features of Slope 2000 :
M`_0C38
{7[Ox<Ho Thank you for trying Slope 2000 for your analysis. Slope 2000
:#Wd~~d is a new era in slope stability analysis. It can locate the
:WEDAFq0 critical failure surface of a slope under general conditions
sJZiI}Xc with general constraints. The shape of the failure surface can
Gc?a +T be either circular or non-circular. It is probably the first
V~GDPJ+ program which can actually locate the critical non-circular
z{
dEC % failure surface of a slope under general conditions.
`5*}p#G )~>YH*g In fact, most of the existing programs can only locate the critical
4#D,?eA7 circular failure surface using a user defined grid as the centre of
"oyo#-5z rotation. Some programs (most notably Stabl or various programs
}BEB1Q}L derived from Stabl) offer a search for critical non-circular failure
)0`C@um surface using a random generation of non-circular failure surface.
6ujWNf This approach requires large number of evaluations to achieve a good
.-zom~N-? accuracy as the program actually does not search for the critical failure
Yy8g(bU surface. Slope 2000 is also probably the first program using the simulated
UQsN'r\tS annealing technique to locate the critical failure surface. The user can
:OT& control the convergence criterion for the location of the critical failure
-"x$ZnHU surface which is another special feature not available in other
wYea\^co similar programs.
/vt3>d%B; }f ?y*
H The third important feature of Slope 2000 is the ability to generate
6tZI["\ graphics file in several bitmap and vector formats. The Winodws version
).O)p9 of Slope 2000 can also send the graphics to the clipboard for various
KI.unP% purposes.
}e1ZbmW >*bvw~y, The fourth important feature of Slope 2000 is the incorporation of circular
?ub35NLa 3D analysis using the Janbu simplified and rigorous method, Bishop method,
0-gAyiKx? Spencer method.
@7}W=HB +A+)=/i; General capability of Slope 2000 :
%d@z39-; mFeP9MfJ Slope 2000 can accept :
ctQ/wrkU 1. Any number of soil defined by any number of co-ordinates.
(3e2c 2. It can accept any number of vertical and horizontal surcharge loads.
Cp N>p.kM 3. It can accept any number of soil nails/geotextiles.
tbr=aY$jY 4. Perch water table and earthquake loads can also be used in the analysis.
P}iE+Z3 5. No initial trial failure is required to be defined in the location
vN $s|R'@ of the critical failure surface.
7GGUV V`5O{Gg For 2D analysis, the methods of analysis available are :
