It's not clear what kind of piles we are discussion here.
for axial loading pile, Dynamic manual give an example shows using axi-symmetric to model single pile, which would be the best way to model single pile under axial loading in plaxis 2d. for pile group, Plaxis 2D is not appropriated to use becuase the model can not actually capture the correct shaft resistent. However for pile function as retaining structures, Plate element could be used to model piles, cause soil arching effect should be taking into account.
